OUR STORY

One day in April 2014, Ana Polegre; (nurse by vocation and illustrator for the love of art) and Urko Martínez (computer engineer and restless by nature) came up with the idea of taking nursing to a different level.

The two of us, as a couple and partners, and surrounded by a great team of more than 15 talented and enthusiastic people, created innovative and cool products and solutions for this amazing health collective. But above all, we created a strong community of nurses who always fight for their rights and visibility.

Throughout these 10 years, “Enfermera en apuros” has become much more than just an online shop.

Sales spots all over Spain, two books published (“Enfermera en apuros. La que elige el tamaño de la aguja” and “Coronavirus. Historias reales en primera linea de batalla”), several Apps for healthcare professionals, cool games and many collaborations with great professionals in the sector.

OUR “WHY?”

Nurses and healthcare professionals are essential because they play a crucial role in society and in people's lives. “WE SAVE LIVES AND HEAL SOULS”.

In our daily lives, us, health professionals, we deal with life and death, and we constantly sacrifice for others, sometimes even at the risk of our own health.

And there's one thing we all have in common, no matter what your branch of healthcare: VOCATION.

Vocation is the motivation that connects pride-effort-desire in our work. It's an energy and, it's not created or destroyed. It's the engine that allows us to move forward, to continue training and to want to help those who really need our help. It's what gives us strength, it's our motto and also the desire to shout: WE ARE NURSES.

“Enfermera en apuros” was born from the need to focus on the work of all health colleagues and their importance in society. To vindicate their rights and to make their realities visible through our illustrations and humour. We believe that it's necessary to make the life of health professionals much more fun and easier. We work hard to design and create useful and beautiful products that our public can identify themselves with.

OUR VISION

Our main goal is to MAKE VISIBLE nursing and health care WORLDWIDE.

To occupy the space and gain the rights that we deserve, and that we have been denied so many times.

To show the world what we do, what we are capable of, and how we are worth it.

Today, “Enfermera en apuros” is much more than an online shop. We have created a strong community of +800K healthcare professionals from all over the world fighting for their rights and visibility, which we give voice to through our social media platforms.

As a reference point for healthcare professionals, we try to make the healthcare community feel connected to each other and represented outside of only healthcare spaces. So that when they wear a product from “Enfermera en apuros” they feel full of pride.
