Solidarity badge We will beat Covid-19!

2020, year of nursing declared by the WHO and a catastrophe comes to our lives. Covid-19 arrives in the form of a global pandemic to destroy everything. To demolish everything, even our way of perceiving everyday life. Hospitals without resources and healthcare on the brink of collapse, that is what we must face now as part of our new normal.

To date, more than 28,000 people have died from the virus in Spain. 28,000 people who were fathers, mothers, grandparents, uncles, sons, nephews, friends or even loves of someone's life. 28,000 people with names and surnames who have not been able to say goodbye properly due to isolation. And let's not talk about the more than 477,000 people who have died around the world and the global health crisis we face.

This is why Nurse in Distress decided in April 2020 , in the midst of a state of alarm and quarantine in Spain, to put a solidarity badge on sale that aims to raise funds for research into the vaccine against Covid-19.

That's when we contacted the organization #yomecorono, (a project of the Fight AIDS Foundation, IrsiCaixa and the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital that join forces to respond as soon as possible to the state of emergency) and we told them about the project we have between hands.

05/05/2020

We made a first donation to the #yomecorono project and to the account enabled by the Ministry of Health at the Bank of Spain. €8,624.23 donated in total!
